Maureen Pranghofer's new CD, ARISE Songs for People who are Grieving, Hurting, Healing and Recovering, is there to be of assistance in those dark times. Through music borne out of Maureen's own personal journey, lyrics in comforting ways express those things which are true but hard to explain. The CD is not one of depression and gloom. It is a work of hope and the knowledge that recovery and eventual celebration will come. Maureen Pranghofer has written and sung all the songs. She was greatly helped by a number of outstanding artists including Sara Renner and Jim Ryberg, the producer and keyboard player.

Purchase the full CD The songs on the CD Song Name Buy and Download the MP 3 Written Words 1 - Come to Me - A song Maureen and Dan Adler wrote as a gift for the husband and children of a young woman who died of cancer. The song was written at a time when Maureen was personally going through the grief process after becoming totally blind in a freak accident.   2 - Abba Father - A song written by Maureen for those people grieving an abusive father or absence of father relationship and a reminder to everyone that God is indeed our true Abba or daddy and we are His children.   3 - Arise - A song Maureen wrote for some friends dedicated to those who struggle with the issues of divorce, marital problems, abuse, low self esteem, and all the invisible disabilities which are often more difficult to overcome than physical limitations. Maureen reminds people that in God it is possible even to arise above life's most hurtful circumstances.   4 - Legacy of Light - A song written by Maureen and sung at her mother's funeral. Maureen's mother was a brave, courageous woman who fought a 20 year battle against Parkinson's disease.   5 - Some Run the Race - A song dedicated to Paul Pranghofer (Maureen's husband of 27 years) and all those who may not run the race set before them in the usual way because of disability, handicap, illness or challenges.   6 - I Choose You - A song written out of the pain Maureen had after dealing with years of rejection as a child because of her congenital disabilities. It is a reminder that even though people may reject us God still chooses us.   7 - Shine on Me - A song written by Maureen in response to a church's request for a song dealing with the issue of forgiveness.   8 - The Resurrected Lord - A song of celebration proclaiming God's truth written by Maureen when her grandmother died and since sung at many funerals.   9 - Nothing Pleases Me More - After Maureen's church held a special celebration service Maureen was prompted to write this to express her great joy in worshipping the Lord.   10 - A Glimpse - A song of worship and the realization that whatever circumstances we may be in we can still bow down before God and worship Him. For where ever we may be in the grieving healing or recovery process He is still an everlasting, ever loving, and unchanging God. This song was sung by Chryss Altamirano while Maureen harmonized.   11 - The Jesus Never Song - A fun lively song expressing the fact that though Jesus did not have the things we have such as Snickers, Pepsi, and Google He is still God.   12 - Come to Me - A repeat of Come to Me without the last verse making it possible to introduce people to God's comfort in a very non-threatening way. This version is currently being used in hospices.
